Colorado lawmakers have introduced a package of legislation to protect the rights of immigrants and all Coloradans:
- The Protecting Colorado Families Act (HB26-1276) requires frequent health and environmental inspections of immigration detention centers, bans the use of public transportation to assist in deportations, and expands liability for organizations responsible for leaking personal identifying information of Coloradans.
-
Liability for Harm Caused by Civil Immigration Enforcement (SB26-005) allows individuals whose constitutional rights were violated by ICE or CBP to sue the agents responsible in Colorado civil court.
Senate Bill 5 will be heard in House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday, April 22 at 1:30pm. We need your help to pass this legislative package and protect Coloradans! Sign-up to testify in-person or over Zoom. More information about how to testify is available after RSVPing.
